As senior vice president Corporate Affairs, Greg Coplans, has
executive oversight for the general management of the Hitachi Data
Systems Corporate Social Responsibility program. Coplans also leads the
legal, global trade, compliance and internal audit functions of the
company with the vice president and General Counsel, and the Directors
of Compliance, Global Trade and Internal Audit reporting to him. He
also serves as Secretary to the Hitachi Data Systems Board of Directors.
Coplans
joined Hitachi Data Systems in 1992 as Group Counsel, Asia Pacific
Latin America and served in a number of positions in the Legal
Department, including General Counsel, before assuming his current role
in April 2006.
Coplans earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree
from the University of Cape Town in South Africa and a Bachelor of Laws
degree from King's College, University of London. Prior to moving to
California, Coplans practiced with a London law firm as a Solicitor of
the Supreme Court of England and Wales. He is a member of the State Bar
of California.
